The ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot Official Trailer Just Dropped and I’m Very Excited

The ‘Gossip Girl’ reboot is filled with its signature showing of wealth, extravagance, but adds a touch of modern flare.

The Gossip Girl reboot trailer just dropped and it looks like we’ll be getting a great new show this July. For the OG Gossip Girl fans, there’s plenty of continuity from the original show. For instance, the students still attend Constance Billard, there are still insiders and outsiders, and power and prestige still seemingly rule all. The trailer’s song, “Super Rich Kids” by Frank Ocean, is very fitting and suggests that there will be no shortage of wealth and luxury in this reboot. Most importantly, fans will be happy to hear that Kristen Bell is reprising her role as the voice of Gossip Girl.

But what’s new? With the show beginning eight years after the original Gossip Girl website shut down, it’s no surprise that Gossip Girl is now an Instagram page that exposes students not only with text, but images too. To play into the influence of social media, main character Julien Calloway (played by Jordan Alexander), is seemingly an Instagram influencer who live streams, likely showing off her NYC rich kid lifestyle. After all, NYC is one of the most romanticized cities, it’s no surprise the influence of these teens stretch beyond their campus grounds and city limits.

Overall, the show seems to be even more flamboyant and extravagant than the original (if that was even possible) and I’m very excited.
